Greetings All ~
I tend to get bored, so I like change. I find it exciting and fun, no trouble at all. And it's inevitable. I guess I like transformation. It seems I've spent a lot of time these last years pushing on something that is also inevitable.
Change seems to come from factors outside of Self.
Transformation demands a conscious effort towards something. But what?
A refined perception that offers deeper knowledge of the Divine within us?
Is that what is known as Wisdom?
This Precious Human Life, as H.H.Dalai Lama XIV puts it, is the well from which our experiences are drawn. These human events (change), help us to refine perception, gain deeper knowledge, and finally transform into a being of greater consciousness (wisdom).
In many philosophies, the implication is that we have a supply of divine energy within. Awareness of that supply is dependent on the choices that are made at the karmic buffet between our lifetimes. Some have an incarnation that is too distracted by mere survival to notice or work on a greater-than-earthly perception. They can look stuck. Others come in keenly aware, no matter what their earthly circumstances. They can look enlightened.
Each lifetime is a chance to increase awareness. We are provided with an infinite amount of time and lifetimes to perfect that awareness. There is no deadline. When that became clear to me at a deep level, I was able to relax and stop pushing so hard to find the balance that was always present between my human experience and an innate knowledge of the Divine. It was there all along.
I have to be careful to not get lazy, arrogant or complacent about this. With this incarnation comes responsibility. But pushing too hard indicates I'm trying to out-guess the Universe.
Sometimes we get dragged, kicking and screaming. Recently, life has brought gargantuan changes to the entire planet, and particularly humans. Talk about transformation...and it ain't over!
Life will give you all you need to know.
Every day, think as you wake up,
today I am fortunate to be alive,
I have a precious human life,
I am not going to waste it.
I am going to use all my energies to develop myself,
to expand my heart out to others;
to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings.
I am going to have kind thoughts towards others.
I am not going to get angry or think badly about others.
I am going to benefit others as much as I can.
Lend a hand, but care of yourself.
Relax, but meditate and practice.
And please be in touch.
All Good Things,
Vicky Jap Dharam Rose
