Greetings All ~
I became fascinated by a quote about part of a Sikh scripture that says "Whosoever chants the 33rdpauriof theJapji Sahib, there is nothing on earth they will not have... this paurimeans that if you ask for nothing, you will get everything—that is the law." I learned the mantra by chanting it the prescribed 25 times a day as part of my daily practice.
First, it merely resonated with me. Then things started to "happen" as claimed. I recorded the mantra for my first album. In fact, it was the first recording I'd done in 29 years. Little things just worked better.
Playing it my car, traffic would clear; in LA of all places — who knew?
I had a successful run of classes at a yoga studio. The room was filled, over capacity. I thought, "I should ask for a raise..." A very commanding voice came into my head. It said, "DON'T ASK!" I answered "Okay, okay. I won't open the discussion." A couple hours later, I got a call from the studio owner telling me I'd been doing so well they were going to give me a raise. Wow! Who gets a raise in yoga?
I was in a music shop browsing and musing that it'd be nice to have a 12-string guitar with pick-ups to accompany myself in concert. A few days later, a friend and I met to jam and have fun. I mentioned the little thought. He said, "Oh, I have a 12-string you can have. And by the way, it has a pick-up." Again, wow!
The mantra's vibration and I had become one.
We are taught that the more we try to make things happen—the more force we use—the more we will achieve. But providing space for our wishes to manifest is the authentic achievement. It comes from Soul connection, allowing Universal Wisdom, guru,to respond to the desire of Destiny rather than that of a grasping ego.
There are so many ways to open that space. I've had success with mantra, meditation, pranayama and prayer. It's a matter of receiving, not taking. It's also a matter of not expecting and not knowing the results. Rather, understanding that your prayer, your postulate, is created by vibration, not by demanding or begging. And the side benefit is that confidence, grace and ease also become your vibration. They become You.
Find what works. I'm happy to assist you in the search.
If Spirit moves, try the 33rd pauri, Akhan Jor. There are many beautiful recordings of this available. The version I recorded is the 25 repetitions. It's available for purchase through CDBaby and other streaming platforms.
Lend a hand, but take care of yourself. Relax, but meditate and practice.
All Good Things,
